For any birders near Winnipeg I would recommend Fort Whyte Center on Mc Gillvary. They have numerous trails and 3 or 4 small lakes and several ponds. We have seen so many different birds there. It is also very peaceful and relaxing. They have 2 feeding stations set up and boardwalks out over some of the lakes and ponds. In the fall they also host an evening dinner at their restaurant for the dusk geese fly in. We haven’t had a chance to attend yet but I am told it is a phenomenal sight.
Paths are crushed limestone or shredded bark. Trails are in good shape and easy to walk on. They have quite a few benches along the trails as well. They have a fairly extensive website. The areas contained within Fort Whyte are quite different ranging from bush to trees and open plain, with a herd of buffalo. They have several picnic tables setup near two of their main buildings, one being the reception center and the other the interpretive center.

Tell other birders about your favorite places, your favorite field guides, your favorite bird-related books, etc.
